Sancerre - Jean Jacques Bardin

Fresh and crisp on the palate with plenty of fresh lemon juice, minerals, assertive fruit.

Crochet’s Sancerre is from the chalk based soils around Bué, fermented in steel, aged sur fine lees and bottled later than the vast majority of standard Sancerres, usually after the following vintage. This cuvée has a natural alcohol of 12.5%, the lowest in Crochet’s cellars this year, ripe and perhaps rounder than a classic Sancerre vintage but nonetheless it exhibits crisp, well-defined fruit, notes of Sicilian lemon, ripe dessert gooseberry with faint hints of fresh asparagus.
